Rank 3: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
- Genre: 3rd Person Shooter/Action
- Release: September 6, 2011
- Rating on Steam: 92 % (all) / 90 % (recent)
- Players: Singleplayer
- Space Marine Anniversary on Steam
You play as Captain Titus, a Space Marine of the Ultramarines, fighting on a fallen factory world of the Imperium against the hordes of bloodthirsty Orks. The goal: to stop the green tide.
Similar to Boltgun, you use the Astartes arsenal, but with more focus on the power feeling of playing a genetically engineered Space Marine. The gameplay emphasizes cinematic scenes, glory kills like in Doom, and impressive battles.
If you’re wondering: there’s a good reason why swords are still used in the 41st millennium.
Space Marine has now received a sequel, which has received slightly lower ratings. Space Marine 3 is already in planning.
Space Marine is suitable for:
- Players who want to feel like a Space Marine
- Action fans looking for graphical highlights – but for that, you are better served with part 2
- Shooter players who don’t just want to shoot but also want to play tactically
- Anyone who prefers to play the campaign in a shooter rather than multiplayer
