This is the new joke: The hype around “the face of Dream” has now reached enormous proportions. Dream posted a picture on Instagram featuring a Minecraft sword, a YouTube button, and himself (via instagram).
Under a hoodie, some strands of hair appear.
This is what fans make of this image: People rush to the picture as if they had to solve a murder case. The Instagram picture alone has 1 million likes.
On Twitter, a seemingly electrified Dream fan says there is so much to analyze. They talk about a “Hair Reveal” and are apparently totally ecstatic about the gloves and pants that Dream wears.
Twitch streamers like Amouranth show everything – Dream shows nothing
This is what it’s about: The interesting thing is that Dream works as a counterpoint to streamers, who try to show everything about themselves like Amouranth.
Since nothing is known about Dream and only his voice is recognized, he seems to become even more attractive to some enthusiastic fans: Because he is the perfect projection surface for their own wishes and dreams. Just a dream.
So it’s not the case that one can only have a successful career as a content creator if one is an attractive young woman – as is often read in comment sections. It’s also enough to create good content and make a huge mystery out of what one looks like.
