Black Desert Online had not many areas at launch, but a thick new territory called Mediah has already been added. And that just 10 days after launch.
What’s new in Black Desert Online? The Korean sandbox MMORPG Black Desert Online was released on March 4, 2019, on Xbox One. But just under 10 days later, the first big content update comes. The Mediah region significantly expands the game world and introduces a new desert region.
PC players had to wait months for this update at the launch of the game. The Xbox version seems to be faster, and console players don’t have to wait months for new content.
The content of the Mediah update
This is all included in the new content pack: The Mediah region has an oriental flair and lies in the east of the world. It offers, among other things, the following features:
- Around 40 new locations that you can use.
- New towns and villages, including the home of the Dark Witch.
- New weapons, armor, and accessories.
- Access to the sea with islands and sailing ships.
- A special quest line from taverns.
- Special storyline about the arena in the capital Altinova.
- Level cap has been lifted, you can now infinitely level above level 55.
- The Red Battlefield, a kind of team deathmatch arena, is now available. However, you can only enter starting at level 50.
- Enhancement levels MON, DI, and TRI have been added for weapons and armor.
- The Karma system has been revised and is now less harsh at negative levels.
The update’s reception among fans: The players of Black Desert Online are thrilled that the Xbox version is getting a big upgrade so soon.
Since the sequence seems to correspond to the updates of the PC version, the next expected updates are Valencia and then the Great Ocean.
If the pace continues like this, the Xbox version may soon stand on par with the PC version. Especially the battle royale mode is very well received.
