The WoW Classic server Celebras is my little paradise

The new RP-realm Celebras in WoW Classic is wonderful. At least that’s what Cortyn thinks and is happy there, because it is once again a “real” RP-realm.

For a few days now, German-speaking role players in World of Warcraft Classic have finally had their wish fulfilled and received their own RP-realm: Celebras. After just a few days, I can say that this has done more than just good for my long-term motivation for WoW Classic.

I must also honestly say that the decision was not easy. After all, I had by now formed a guild and made many acquaintances that I left behind. After a long conversation, at least a large part of the guild could be persuaded to switch, and so far, I have not regretted it. Celebras is, from a role-playing perspective, my little private paradise.

RP-flags everywhere: No matter how you look at it, role players are a minority even on RP-realms in Retail-WoW now. You probably still have the best ratio on the realm “Die Aldor”, but even here, there are many guilds that have nothing to do with role-play and have wandered there for other reasons. It was different many years ago when “Die Aldor” was opened.

And just like back then, it feels now on Celebras. Who walks through Stormwind or Orgrimmar and looks at players discovers at least 9 out of 10 players with a role-play flag. These are descriptions of the character (like appearance, age, and sometimes additional information) created by the RP-addon ‘TotalRP3’ (link to Curse download).

Advantages in PvE – once again: Just like in Retail, the RP-realm Celebras (unfortunately) also offers advantages in PvE because it is currently still relatively sparsely populated, and most players indulge in role-play.

But even if you want to farm or grind a little, there are simply significantly fewer players in the endgame areas. Recently, it was almost impossible to farm something in Everlook during normal times. For example, if someone wanted to farm the Furbolgs in Winterspring, they could bet that 10-12 players were there at the same time to share the nearly 25 mobs among themselves – and that, even though Everlook still had at least 2 layers.

On Celebras, that is at least different at the moment. If at all, there are 2-3 other players there, and if I discover a role-play flag among them, it automatically lifts my mood. Like-minded people are not so bad after all.

When the new realm appeared in the list, the joy was great.

This unfortunately makes Celebras interesting for “non-role players” as well, but they are likely to lose interest fairly soon when it comes to large raid groups or the general supply of resources in the auction house.

Since I also like to farm “some rune cloth at night” for my reputation with Darnassus, this is optimal for me.

I find complete sentences great: One last point, which may seem a bit condescending, is the fact that a completely different language prevails on RP-servers. Most people write complete sentences that are simply pleasant to read. I know that many save time with “LFM strat human 1 dd 1 tank then go, orbs locked” and basically most players know what it means. I still find it awful.

I would rather read a few lines of convoluted “RP-blabla” from an elven priestess looking for brave warriors for her elunefavored cleansing of Stratholme to further Mother Moon’s agenda.

Walking through the streets of Stormwind and seeing little RP conversations everywhere makes me smile inside (and sometimes also outside).

I have missed this. An RP-realm where RP is the norm and not the exception.

In short: Celebras is currently a small WoW paradise for me, and I hope it will last for many weeks and months. Even though I fear that the RP community will have torn itself apart again by Christmas at the latest, as it has every time before. But that is material for another article…

Are you also on Celebras? How do you like it there?
