What kind of game is this? Fortnite was developed by People Can Fly and Epic Games. The shooter was released on July 25, 2017, and is now one of the most successful games in the world. Fortnite consists of 2 different modes: “Save the World” and “Battle Royale”.
In the paid mode “Save the World”, the goal is to survive alone or in a team with the appropriate resources and build a fortress to defend it from zombies during the night.
The free mode “Battle Royale” drops up to 100 players onto an island. Only one or a team can win the game. During the game, you can collect weapons, gear, and resources that allow you to build things.
Why is Fortnite successful on Twitch? Especially the “Battle Royale” mode is popular on Twitch: Every match looks different, and many aim to get the most kills. Due to the ability to build things out of nothing to quickly escape or hide, the game is more complex and strategic than it initially seems.
Thanks to the new events, updates, and skins that Fortnite receives regularly, the game does not get boring for viewers and streamers.

- Watch time: 1,852,530,894 hours
- Followers on Twitch: 51 million (via Twitch)
- Genre: Shooter, Action RPG
- Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

Why is GTA 5 successful on Twitch? Especially the online mode combined with role-playing has become extremely attractive for Twitch streamers. There are many different role-playing servers where various communities come together and play together.
Streamers then randomly or intentionally take on the role of a character and play it in the stream. If the streamer is a police officer? Then he must play the role convincingly. He usually cannot just randomly arrest anyone for fun but must conduct “real” investigations.
In the process, the streamer talks with other real participants in the role-playing game. Viewers are regularly entertained by the different personalities and the acting.
