After Pokémon GO, the AR game The Walking Dead: Our World (iOS, Android) could attract fans back to the streets. Instead of cute monsters, you will encounter creepy zombies.
The next The Walking Dead game from AMC will infect your immediate neighborhood with nasty zombies. The game uses data from Google Maps to accurately depict your surroundings.
The Walking Dead: Our World comes from Finnish developer Next Games and is expected in Spring or Summer 2018. There is currently no exact release date. It supports iOS and Android.

Your location plays an important role in this AR game, as the zombies appear right near you. With your phone in hand, you can search the ground in front of you for footprints and thus encounter new companions.
Familiar characters from the series such as Rick, Daryl, and Michonne fight by your side. To defeat the walkers, you have access to weapons such as Uzis or sniper rifles. A trailer also shows a crossbow.
Parks, streets, gardens, and even your own living room can be besieged by zombies with this game.

That AR games have great potential and a massive fan base was already shown by Pokémon GO, which still captivates players nearly two years after its release.
From the creators of Pokémon GO, another major franchise is set to launch this year, which may trigger another hype. In 2018, Niantic will release Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
