The new addon from The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) brings locations and monsters from Skyrim back to screens. A video now compares the two games.
What does the video show? The YouTube channel outsidexbox has published a lot of gameplay material in a video. They showcase iconic locations from Skyrim, which will soon be visible in ESO with the new expansion Greymoor.
On top of that, the video includes a comparison of how the areas and monsters looked back then and how they will appear in ESO:
The video evokes nostalgia
These are the highlights of the video: That the new addon is something for Skyrim fans was also shown by the gameplay trailer released by Zenimax a few days ago. Outsidexbox also uses some footage from this compilation.
In their video, you now have a direct comparison of then and now. In-game, there are 1000 years between the images, which makes it even more exciting. Especially, a lot of focus is placed on the locations:
- The capital Solitude in Skyrim
- The Blackreach with new areas like an underground vampire castle
- Dragonbridge
- The starting area Deepwood Vale
- Wreck of the Ice Runner
- Shadowgreen Cavern
- Icebreath Depths
But it’s not just the locations shown in the video; you will also encounter some familiar monsters here. This includes oversized insects or the nasty Spriggans.
The community is having flashbacks too
This is how the community reacts: The video is also appearing in the ESO subreddit. It is being discussed heatedly, and most users are also having flashbacks to Skyrim while watching.
Opinions are divided. Some players would have preferred different areas, as a lot should have happened in 1000 years.
However, the majority are looking forward to the expansion and are excited about Skyrim. Especially, the underground area Blackreach, which makes ESO bigger than ever, is eagerly awaited:
