The PC version of Warframe has recently received a new update called “Saint of Altra”. The patch not only introduced the lightning-fast frame Gauss but also “Shawzin Hero”. The Shawzin string instruments, which previously served as decoration for one’s spaceship, can now be played.
Update brings playable guitar: The developers at Digital Extremes have released a new update for the PC version of Warframe. In addition to some new content, there is also a new feature for music enthusiasts.
You can now play the Shawzin. The string instrument was previously only used as a nice decoration for your Orbiter, but can now be played.
The Tenno have already shown in countless videos which hits can be played with this new feature. Classics like “Through the Fire and Flames” or “House of the Rising Sun” must not be missing, as well as “Despacito”, which you can listen to here on Reddit.
How does it work? The “mini-game” is started via a new emote, which is now available in the in-game shop as a bonus for the Shawzin decoration. Players who already own the decoration will receive this emote automatically.
Players can play different notes, change octaves, and even turn on a metronome. They can also record their own songs and share them with other Tenno. These will then play the tracks in Guitar Hero style.
This is somewhat reminiscent of the musical Warframe Octavia, who entered the game in 2017.
However, playing songs exactly is not possible. Players noticed that there are two chords on the Shawzin that do not appear in any octaves: A#4 and G#4.
What else did the update bring? In addition to the playable Shawzin the last update for Warframe mainly brought the new frame Gauss. He is so fast that players are concerned about how Gauss controls in the game and what impact he has in the open world.
In addition, there were also a number of new weapons and new disruption missions. Furthermore, players can now share their loadouts with others.
When the “Saint of Altra” update will be released for consoles is currently unknown.
For Warframe, however, the next major expansion Empyrean is planned for 2019.
