The E3 2021 showcased some exciting games and presentations so far, but we at MeinMMO already have a favorite from E3 2021: The mini fridge in Xbox design. Starting late 2021, the “Xbox Mini-Fridge” will finally be available for purchase.
Microsoft presented some strong games at E3 2021. Besides Forza Horizon 5, which looks fantastic, they discussed a possible release date for Halo Infinite.
However, the real highlight of this year’s E3 came afterward. At the end, Microsoft unveiled a product that probably not many were waiting for: “The world’s most powerful mini fridge.”
This is a mini fridge the size of an Xbox Series X and in the typical green-black design like other Xbox devices.
Microsoft writes: “Yes, this is really happening.”
The size is perfect for storing beverage cans for a long gaming night and having them within reach without having to run to the kitchen.

Here’s why the fridge is a winner: After all the games and presentations, Microsoft presented new “hardware” for gamers. You probably can’t game on it, but at least the device can keep your beer cold.
Additionally, the fridge is said to utilize the Velocity Architecture. Yes, the very technology that Microsoft is already using in the actual console. How can anything go wrong with that? Besides, how many manufacturers can present the “world’s most powerful” mini fridge?
However, there is a risk: Now we have to hope that the rush at Christmas won’t be too big and that all interested parties will be able to get such a device.
Microsoft must keep a promise
Why is Microsoft introducing something like this? The idea for the mini fridge came from a competition between Xbox and the US brand Skittles, which produces candy among other things. Xbox marketing chief Aaron Greenberg promised that if Xbox won, they would design a mini fridge.
And Xbox actually won with 50.4 percent, narrowly beating Skittles. On Twitter, the result was announced on April 4, 2021, and they promised to keep their promise.
