In the last few months, there has been little news about the survival game Conan Exiles, which is playable on Steam, Epic, PlayStation, and Xbox. However, a video has now surfaced showing the developers presenting a new expansion. Age of Sorcery is set to bring magic into the world of Conan and includes dozens of revisions. The release is scheduled for later in 2022.

What’s included in the new expansion? According to the developers, Age of Sorcery and its associated patch 3.0 will be the biggest update for Conan Exiles to date. This would also surpass the Isle of Siptah expansion, which was released in 2021.
The focus here is on magic. However, it should fit into the world of Conan the Barbarian and be ‘grounded’:
- Players choose an “Aura of Power” that allows them to use rituals and perform classic spellcasting abilities. Each Aura of Power brings different abilities and spells.
- Spells are supposed to be “traditional” abilities that you can cast.
- Through the rituals, you can utilize servants, mounts, and a fast travel system. However, rituals require a “Sacrificial Stone” at your base, reagents, and human sacrifices.
In addition to these spell-related contents, several revisions are also planned, including adjustments to attributes, a completely new fast travel system, and a rework of monetization.

What will be changed? Almost everything. In the video, the developers present adjustments to the following contents:
- A new attribute and perk system
- You can now corrupt your attributes if you give in to the Void, unlocking entirely new perks
- The building system is completely reworked. All buildings are now found in a menu, benefiting controller users
- Traveling is supposed to become easier through a teleport system
However, one of the biggest changes concerns monetization. The game will soon receive a battle pass and an in-game store. These are designed to include purely cosmetic innovations and offer no gameplay advantages. There will also be free rewards in the battle pass.
In return, the paid DLCs are being abolished. These were previously released regularly and primarily brought cosmetics as well.
When will the expansion be released? Age of Sorcery is set to be released in the third quarter of 2022. This includes the months of July to September. There is currently no exact release date.
