With Loadout Drops, you can get helpful perks in Call of Duty: Warzone that improve your chances in Battle Royale. The strongest perk is Ghost, as it allows you to hide much better from your opponents. However, it seems to not be working correctly anymore.
What’s wrong with Ghost? This perk, which you obtain through equipment drops in Call of Duty: Warzone, is supposed to protect you from devices that opponents could use to detect you earlier:
- Protection from reconnaissance drones
- Not visible on heartbeat sensors
- Invisible to radar drones
However, according to several reports from Warzone players on reddit, the perk apparently does not work 100% reliably anymore. Despite “Ghost,” players are visible on the heartbeat sensor’s display. We recommend both advantages in our tips for the Warzone, and many players like to use them. A bug could impact a lot of Warzone players.
“Ghost” could be broken – But some players doubt it
What experiences have players had? The author of the reddit thread “skk50” reported about several solo matches where he could see in the killcam that he was visible to his enemies with the heartbeat sensor.
Some users contradict this. “Me2445” claims: “The killcam is not accurate. He could have looked at the sensor without having a display, while the killcam still shows something. Possibly a killcam bug.”
But other soldiers have reported differently regarding the problem. “jerrywesticles” reports: “I noticed this today as well. I found someone with my heartbeat sensor and then deployed my reconnaissance drone. But he wasn’t displayed, only on the heartbeat sensor.”
However, most players who have encountered the bug are confident that it is not a consistent bug. It occurs sometimes and not at other times. This uncertainty makes it unreliable for some players, as they can no longer rely on it.

Not everyone knows the details of “Ghost”
Could something else be at fault here? Even the reports in conjunction with the drone don’t convince all soldiers. The perk “Ghost” does not provide 100% protection from drones and sensors.
Once you fire your weapon, “Ghost” is disabled for a few seconds. Some suspicious readers here assume ignorance and believe this is not a bug, but human error.
It could also be the other way around, and the heartbeat sensor displays information that it shouldn’t provide in this case. Either way, this issue could become a problem for the developers.
What should I pay attention to now? If “Ghost” does have a small flaw, it further strengthens the already powerful heartbeat sensor. You can’t really counteract this, and there has been no statement from the developers regarding it either. So if you haven’t done so yet, rely even more on the heartbeat sensor.
If “Ghost” seems too uncertain to you now, consider using “Overkill” instead. This allows you to carry two fully modified weapons into war. “Battle Hardened” is also a good choice among the red perks, but is countered by the also widely used “Cold-Blooded.” Here’s an overview of the best loadouts and perks in Warzone.
Knowing that this perk can sometimes have hiccups leads to uncertainty. We will keep an eye on this issue and provide you with an update should there be new information.
