Martyr Logarius is the head of the fanatic hunting group known as the Executioners. He led a suicide mission to Castle Cainhurst to try to eradicate all the vilebloods – a risky undertaking, considering that the vilebloods use blood magic.
Despite the great threat, the Executioners managed to wipe out all but the queen of the castle, Annalise. She was immortal, and even though she had been processed into a red lump of flesh, she could regenerate her body.
To ensure that the knowledge of the vilebloods and their blood would not again become a danger to the Healing Church, Logarius sacrificed himself and vowed with his martyrdom to guard the queen’s passage throughout all time and to exterminate all intruders.
His appearance suggests that he has been keeping his vow for many years. Equipped with his scythe and the vengeful spirits of the vilebloods, he poses a real threat, even though Logarius is now just a walking corpse.
