Pokémon GO has already had some strange monsters up its sleeve. This list may soon be expanded by an unusual Pokémon from the Galar region.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Anyone who has played the “Sword” or “Shield” Pokémon games on the Nintendo Switch is likely to have come across it. We are talking about “Lauchzelot” – the new Gen-8 evolution of Porenta.
Upon closer inspection, Lauchzelot is the evolution of the new Galar form of Porenta, which came with the eighth generation into the games. Even at its presentation, “Lauchzelot” received a lot of funny comments.
The first point is, of course, the name: “Lauchzelot”, a mix of “leek” and “Lancelot”, caused a lot of laughs.

These are some of the comments you can find under the presentation from September 2019. Additionally, there is the unusual design – after all, this is a bird knight that uses an oversized leek stalk as a sword. Overall, the crazy monster was well received. And not only its appearance is unusual.
What makes Lauchzelot unique: Lauchzelot not only masters its own special attack called “Meteor Assault” in the main games: Unlike most other Pokémon, Galar-Porenta does not simply evolve into Lauchzelot through leveling up. Instead, it must land three critical hits within a battle to evolve.
An odd evolution path – could this somehow find application in Pokémon GO? But first, we have to wait and see if and when Lauchzelot will come to Pokémon GO.
Dataminers find hints about Lauchzelot
This was found: The “Pokeminer” found some lines in the code regarding new Galar forms that are supposed to be added to the game. These were:
- Galar-Flunschlik
- Galar-Mauzi
- Galar-Zigzachs
- Galar-Flampion
In addition to the evolutions of these monsters. All these Galar Pokémon were also officially announced with the big nostalgia event. However, Galar-Porenta and Lauchzelot were missing from this announcement. According to Pokeminers, they can be found in the code just like the other monsters.
So it remains to be seen when and in what form Lauchzelot will actually come to the game. So far, it is just a datamining find that should be viewed with caution.
In addition to Lauchzelot, a change to the remote raids was also found that could soon come to the game.
