The showrunner of Arcane reveals how long he worked on the final line of season 2 and how high the expectations for the series are

Arcane is one of the best animated series on Netflix, and now Season 2 has finally started. For many, the series is not only a beautiful experience because of the animation but also because of the emotional story. The authors of the series know this as well, having spent an incredible amount of time on the last line.

What is Arcane? Arcane is the first animated series set in the League of Legends universe and was a huge hit for Netflix in 2021. It took 3 years to wait for the second season, and now the first act with 3 episodes has finally been released.

As already known, Season 2 will also be the end of the series. This will also be an emotional experience, at least if one can believe the creators who claimed to have spent 27 hours just on the last line.

What did the creators say about the finale of Arcane Season 2? In an interview with GamesRadar+, the two creators of Arcane, Alex Yee and Christian Linke, talked about the last line of the series. They invested quite a bit of time into it, as Yee explains:

I literally spent 27 hours or something like that just trying to figure out: What is the conclusion? How do you end a show like this?

They wanted to avoid making Season 2 feel like a political statement. This is challenging, as Linke says. It’s difficult to completely detach from the real world.

Linke explains in this context why it took so long. The last line is also supposed to contain a personal perspective, dealing with confronting impossible situations and conflicts. He also mentions his own kind of hope.
