The second season of the Netflix series Arcane is on the starting blocks. But that should be it. The showrunner now explains why that’s a good thing.
What is Arcane? In 2021, this series, set in the universe of League of Legends, was released and was a true feast for all fans of the game. However, even viewers who had nothing to do with LoL before could enjoy the 9 episodes.
Particularly the animation style stood out and provided some beautiful visuals. Fans had to wait three years before it continues with Act 1 on November 9th. The second follows on November 16th, and the third on November 23rd.
Like season 1, the continuation will also run on Netflix. However, that should be it. According to the responsible showrunner, anything else would be a mistake.

Knowing when to stop
Why does the series end with season 2? The showrunner of Arcane, Christian Linke, spoke with CinemaBlend about his work. According to him, it should be avoided that the series lasts too long:
We always had a specific story in mind. You see, it could definitely have been stretched further. But for us, it was always the case that we started with this thought in mind. I think there’s also a personal aspect as creatives. We have all seen the TV shows where the authors clearly run out of energy.

The work on the series has already taken nine years, a long time to tinker with a single series. Linke even goes further and says it would simply be irresponsible to stretch the story any longer. He and his team would no longer be able to do it justice. They do not want to overdo it.
What is season 2 about? The upcoming episodes are set to mark the climax of the series. Many familiar characters from the LoL universe will reappear. Among them are Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, and many others.
Some years have passed since the events of season 1. The story of the two sisters Jinx and Vi is to be concluded. Additionally, it is about the conflict between the city of Piltover and Silco’s allies.
With season 2, the team around Christian Linke completes their vision of the LoL series. Fans need not be sad, as the production team has already announced that there will be more projects in the LoL universe.
