Rank 1: The Reach
- House: Tyrell
- Capital: Highgarden
The Reach is not only large in area but also has the largest population in the Seven Kingdoms. The fertile land allows for the cultivation of vast fields that supply most of Westeros with food. Accordingly, trade is also flourishing. The infrastructure is extraordinarily good, with direct connections to King’s Landing and Casterly Rock. This made the Reach the second richest region, directly behind the Westerlands.
Although the Reach borders as many regions as the Riverlands, mountains and the sea offer better defenses. Thanks to its wealth and high population, the region has about 70,000 fighters, making it by far the largest army in Westeros. The warriors are well-trained and often fight in heavy plate armor. The region is generally considered the center of chivalry, where many tournaments take place and knights enjoy high status.
Equally dangerous is the Reach at sea. For the House Rothesay of the Arbor Island is a vassal of the Tyrells. They own the so-called Rothesay fleet, which is considered the greatest naval power in Westeros.
The Reach thus has the most inhabitants, the largest army, the strongest fleet, the most fertile land, and a lot of money. Thus, it has rightfully earned the first place in this ranking.
