The servers of Helldivers 2 reach their limit every evening, but the studio head explains that buying new ones is not the problem.
What’s up with the servers? Helldivers 2 struggles with full servers every evening when most players want to play a bit after work. To keep the servers stable, the development studio Arrowhead has limited the maximum number of players to 450,000. This value is currently reached by the co-op shooter daily with ease.
Anyone who tries to log into Helldivers 2 after the maximum player limit has been reached is confronted with the message “Login limit reached.” Afterwards, it goes into a queue, which, however, does not inform you when you can join the servers.
This frustrates many players, as Helldivers 2 is actually a lot of fun for many shooter fans, and they look forward to playing for a few hours with friends. Some therefore ask in social networks why the developers don’t just buy more servers – Sony could even help out.
The CEO of Arrowhead has meanwhile explained why the capacity of the “Helldivers 2” servers is not a matter of money.
“We are reaching our limits”
What does the head say about the demand for new servers? Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Arrowhead, explains on X.com that the current situation of the servers is not due to a lack of money.
According to Pilestedt, the problem is not that they cannot buy new servers. The problem is the work they are currently doing to make more servers available.
He further explains that the team behind the co-op shooter is already at its limits.
It’s not a matter of money or buying additional servers. It’s a matter of work. We need to optimize the backend code. We are reaching our limits.

In general, the development team behind Helldivers 2 is aware of the situation regarding the servers. When a player wrote on X.com that he could not currently afford the game, the studio head even advised him to wait before purchasing.
After all, it would be very disappointing to spend your last money on a game and then be unable to play due to lack of server capacity. The head of Helldivers 2 advises not to spend any money on the game yet – fans want to buy it even more now
