In the Ultimate Team mode of FIFA 19, there are now new player cards whose values are based on the results of the respective teams and players in the Champions & Europa League. From a German perspective, Jonathan Tah is highlighted.
For the first time, FIFA Ultimate Team has special player cards for the Champions and Europa League. These will only be available for a limited time.
The event is called EA Road to the Final (RTF), the path to the final, with the cards based on the performance of the team and the players in the respective Champions and Europa League matches.
Road to the Final – Who wins gets a better card
When do the cards get an upgrade? Each RTF player starts with an Inform upgrade. This is already a boost for all attributes.
For each additional game won by a team, the corresponding player receives an upgrade. In total, each RTF player can receive up to seven boosts, up to the final. Besides the first, these further boosts can follow:
- K.O. Round
- Round of 16
- Quarterfinals
- Semifinals
- Final
- Win in the Final
The extent to which a player is upgraded is based on the normal Inform upgrades, which are also available in the Team of the Week.
How to get the RTF cards: The special RTF cards are available for a limited time in all FUT Packs.
In total, there are 21 cards, 4 of which will be available in Squad Building Challenges.

Does a player need to have played to receive an upgrade? No, the team just needs to reach the respective rounds.
If the team of an RTF player finishes the group stage in third place and thus lands in the Europa League, his card will turn into a corresponding EL card, without upgrade. If they then win in the knockout rounds, there are again further upgrades.
It may take several hours in the game before the upgrade is visible. So don’t worry if your player’s team wins, but the player does not receive an upgrade immediately.
