Standing Stone Games have talked about what players of the MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online can expect in the coming year.
First, the team explains that 2017 was an exciting year for them, as it was the first year in which Standing Stone Games worked on the MMO. Additionally, players finally reached Mordor.
But the adventure will not end there, as the developers have some plans for 2018. Something will also happen in The Lord of the Rings Online in 2017.

Yule Festival and “Abyss of Mordath” Raid Ahead
The Yule Festival is approaching. During this event, you can obtain new items such as a winter dress, the Woodland Crown, and a cloak with Yule motifs. A moose mount is also planned, and two new cosmetic pets will be introduced.
At the end of 2017, the Raid Abyss of Mordath will start, which will also be significant for the upcoming Update 21.3. This will expand the housing system. Items for this can be found in the Raid. Abyss of Mordath concludes the story that began with Dor Amarth.

Off to the North and to Kankra
At the beginning of 2018, you will venture into the northern regions of Middle-earth with Update 22. You will explore the areas of the Northern Mirkwood and visit the court of the Elven King Thranduil. A journey to Dale, the Sea City, and the Lonely Mountain Erebor is also planned.
And Update 23 will take you to Minas Morgul, where a meeting with the formidable giant spider Kankra awaits!
The developers of The Lord of the Rings Online have big plans and aim to provide the MMORPG with further content for many years. After all, it is still a long way until the wedding of Aragorn and Arwen – and beyond that, more adventures await you. A revision of skills and powers, adjustments to character models starting with dwarf and hobbit, the fiddle as a new musical instrument, and much more are also part of the plans.
Even after the One Ring was destroyed in The Lord of the Rings Online after 10 years, the adventure continues.
