Comfort
What does my head look like? My head circumference is about 58cm, so I have a rather smaller head and like to wear heavy devices privately.
In general, the headset offers some opportunities to properly adjust it to one’s own head. This includes adjustable ear cups as well as an elastic headband. The ear cushions cannot be rotated, but they provide enough space.
The headset sits very firmly on my head overall and has a high clamping pressure. This way, the model sits absolutely securely on my head and cannot slip even during quick movements.
The faux leather ear cushions are pleasantly soft and warm and completely surround my ears. In summer, they might cause uncomfortable heat, as hardly any air comes to the enclosed ears.
Sound
In my current favorite shooter Deathloop, I can locate enemies easily and also set up the 3D audio features of the PS5 without any problem and subsequently use them. Tonally, the device is somewhat bass-heavy and also somewhat heavier than my SteelSeries Nova 7 Wireless, where the sound overall seems more neutral. However, highs are somewhat weaker than those of the RIG 800 HS.
Even when there is a lot going on in the game, because I, as Colt in Deathloop, am currently being shot at from all sides and somewhere a radio is loudly playing, the sound remains clear and is not distorted.
Overall, however, the sound seems slightly constricted. A real soundstage is hardly present, so I can’t exactly determine where an instrument is playing in music. But Nacon also primarily targets gamers with its device and not audiophile music listeners, and additionally, the Nacon 800 Pro HS is a closed headset.
Range and Battery Life
How good is the connection? The range is more than sufficient both from the station and “only” via the USB adapter. According to the manufacturer, the range is 10 meters, but I can also easily have a wall in between and the connection does not drop.
What about the battery life? D The battery life is stated by the manufacturer at 24 hours. This is somewhat less compared to competitors:
- The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max offers 40 hours of battery life for the same price
- The Arctis Nova 7 Wireless from SteelSeries offers 30 hours of battery life but also costs about 30 euros less.
- The Astro Gaming A50 is the weakest contender with 18 hours.
However, the RIG HS800 has a key disadvantage compared to the competition: The charging time is about 8 hours according to the manufacturer and runs via micro-USB. All other manufacturers now offer USB-C and often come with “Fast Charge”. This means that in 15 minutes, enough battery for 6 to 8 hours is available again.

On the last page, I will discuss the microphone and explain how the device performs in practical tests compared to the competition. In the final conclusion, you will find out if the device is worth it for you and what alternatives exist.
