In the in-game shop of World of Warcraft, there is now a new mount. However, the lucky pig Hogrus divides the player community.
A few days ago, we reported on a leak that there might soon be a pig as a mount in the Chinese version of World of Warcraft. After all, in China, the Year of the Pig is just beginning, making a release timely. Now the mount is also available in Europe.
Hogrus, the lucky pig: The leak has now been confirmed. Hogrus is an oversized pig with a saddle and numerous pandaren decorations, such as jade ornaments and large gold coins. In flight zones, Hogrus can also fly – it grows little wings. You can see what the mount looks like in action in this short trailer:
How much does Hogrus cost? Here in Europe, the mount costs a hefty 25€, like most others in the shop. In China, however, the mount is available as an additional incentive for signing a long-term subscription of 6 months. Such offers have now become a tradition in China at the beginning of the new year.
What the community says: In various forums, the opinion about Hogrus is rather negative. Some fans wonder if there will now be a new mount in the in-game shop every month and find the piglet too silly. There are repeated calls for Blizzard to “first fix other issues and then deal with overpriced mounts”.
However, there are also a few players defending the mount. They say Hogrus is finally a “more fun mount” for which they would be willing to pay a bit more. Those who do not want the mount do not have to buy it.
The last mount had already caused controversy, as the timing of its release was terribly bad.
