In WoW: Classic there are some rare items. But the rarest of them might be one that you might not have on your radar…
Rare items are part of the daily life in World of Warcraft, just like in all other MMORPGs. Some items have an extremely low drop chance of 1% or less. This makes farming for these items particularly arduous. But no matter which item you are currently thinking of – it won’t be as hard to get as these cloth pants.
Which pants are we talking about? We are talking about the “Spellshock Leggings” or in German the “Zauberschock-Gamaschen.” These pants are extremely good for cloth classes for a long time and still quite solid at level 60. But they are perfect for PvP twinks around level 49. The pants have intelligence, stamina, and a solid amount of spell damage (and healing).

Why are they so rare? The pants are an absolute curiosity in World of Warcraft. Because although they are a “Bind on Equip” item, meaning they are only bound when worn, they can only drop from very few opponents in the Zul’Farrak instance – namely from the two bosses “Antu’sul” and “Häuptling Ukorz Sandscalp.” Each of them has only an extremely low chance to leave behind these pants – about 0.01%. In the entire dungeon, there are only 2 mobs that have a very low chance for the item.
In contrast, legendary items like the bindings of the Windseeker with 3% are almost common.
Many rumors surround the pants: The Spellshock Leggings are so rare that many rumors circulate about them. Even today, players are still not sure from which opponents exactly the leggings can drop. Some people claim to have gotten the leggings as a drop from trash mobs, but so far, only the two bosses have been confirmed. The item is simply too rare to be able to verify it.

If you manage to get your hands on these leggings, consider yourself lucky. They not only look stylish, but they are also among the most exclusive items in World of Warcraft.
By the way: In the “Retail” variant, the pants are no longer as rare. Due to many changes and scaling, the way loot is generated and distributed has changed. On regular WoW realms, these pants are therefore seen more frequently in the auction house.
