The Pyromancer is considered a fire mage from Outriders. People Can Fly has now introduced this in a video, including an endgame build. What can the class do?
What kind of class is this? The Pyromancer masters the fire element. He is particularly strong at medium distances, but can also be played in close combat with the right perks and mods.
Through his skills, he can burn entire groups of enemies and keep them at bay. The Pyromancer’s abilities can hit enemies even through cover. The official website states: “If you want to effectively hold large groups of enemies at bay, this class is great for you!”
Now the developers of Outriders have shown how this can be played in the later endgame of Outriders – including a build with a legendary armor, the “Fire Witch” set.

The Pyromancer in the endgame of Outriders
This is the build: In the video, a build is used that focuses on four pieces of the “Fire Witch” set (head, chest, arms, legs) and one piece of the Reforged set (shoes). The latter we have already shown in our presentation of 8 legendary armors: See now 8 of the legendary armors from Outriders available at release.
These skills benefit from the set:
- The set strengthens certain skills like Overheat through its modifications, which hits all enemies within a certain radius and buffs yourself. You can also make the position of your enemies more visible.
- The “Fire Witch” set additionally gives you bonuses that reduce the cooldown of the Overheat skill to 6 seconds. Enemies are marked, allowing you and your group to deal more damage to these foes. If you kill marked enemies, you heal yourself. This is the special healing mechanic of the Pyromancer.
- The second key skill of the set is the Phaser Beam. This is a powerful fire beam that pierces enemies and deals massive damage.
- With the third skill Eruption, you can make enemies explode at a point. With the set, you can use Eruption up to three times before the cooldown activates.
The powerful skill combinations make enemies literally disappear into ash and fire. Despite or precisely because of the numerous foes, the Pyromancer can fully exploit his strengths. This is what the build looks like in action:
YouTube expert sees more similarity to Diablo than to Destiny
The YouTube expert SkillUp apparently agrees and has referred to the video on the Pyromancer on Twitter as a good example that Outriders resembles the action RPG more than Destiny: “This is a good video to demonstrate how Outriders is closer to Diablo than to Destiny.”
Who is this anyway? SkillUp is a former Division YouTuber and has spent a lot of time in Destiny 2. The expert currently entertains thousands of fans with reviews of various games and discusses the industry in general. His affinity for loot shooters is evident time and again.
He rated the demo of Outriders positively in his YouTube video and praises the classes and the loot system in particular.
His readers largely agree with him and also feel reminded of Diablo. User Timeras writes: “I felt this from the beginning and have always compared the game with Diablo.”
Why this comparison? As Outriders is a loot shooter, many draw comparisons to other well-known games like Destiny, The Division, or Anthem. MeinMMO author Benedict Grothaus has already compared the games in his opinion: Outriders looks like Destiny 2 – But in good
The developers have already addressed this in an interview with MeinMMO. While they do not avoid the comparison, they view Outriders more as an RPG shooter.
