The new patch on the PTR of Overwatch brings several changes. Among other things, Symmetra receives a major rework and is now in the “Damage” category. You can read the patch notes here.
New patch adjusts heroes and maps: The new patch 1.25.0.0 for the test region of Overwatch brings numerous adjustments for some heroes and the Horizon lunar colony. In addition to Symmetra getting a rework, Orisa and Doomfist are also receiving some adjustments.

Overwatch PTR Patch 1.25.0.0 Patch Notes
General Updates
- All heroes in the Offensive and Defensive categories are now grouped into the “Damage” category.
- Fights can now be heard from 25% greater distance.
- The “Varok” spray is now called “Saurfang”.
- A stat for the active time of Inspiration for Brigitte has been added to the career.
- Some stats for Symmetra have been removed from the career.
- A stat for critical hits in sniper mode for Widowmaker has been added to the career.
- Players on PC must enable SMS protection to qualify for the Top 500.
- Career profiles are no longer publicly visible by default, but only visible to friends. An option to make the career publicly visible has been added under Options > Friends & Groups > Profile Visibility.
Hero Updates
Doomfist
- Meteor Strike
- The bonus movement speed has been increased from 150% to 200%.
- Offensive Defense
- Ability damage now generates 35 instead of 30 shields for normal abilities.
Orisa
- Supercharger
- Ultimate cost reduced by 15%.
Symmetra
- New abilities
- Photon Projector (Primary Weapon)
- No longer locks onto targets.
- Range increased to 10 meters.
- Damage is now increased every 2 seconds instead of every second.
- The damage scaling has been increased from 30/60/120 to 60/120/180.
- Now generates ammunition instead of consuming it when hitting a barrier.
- Alternate Fire
- Turret
- The turrets are now placed like projectiles, instead of by hand.
- Maximum of 3 charges, previously 6.
- Maximum of 3 turrets placeable at once, previously 6.
- Damage increased.
- Slow effect increased.
- Teleporter (E)
- The exit can now be placed up to 25 meters away from Symmetra.
- The entrance is automatically placed at Symmetra, not in the base.
- Lasts 10 seconds.
- Health points reduced to 300.
- More things can be teleported (like Junkrat’s Riptire)
- The entrance can be destroyed. If either the entrance or exit is destroyed, the counterpart will also be destroyed.
- New ultimate ability: Photon Barrier
- Creates a barrier that spans the entire map.
- Orientation can be changed by re-pressing the ultimate button.
- 5000 health points.
- Photon Projector (Primary Weapon)
Map Updates
Horizon Lunar Colony
- Point A
- A staircase has been added to the right behind the exit of the Hydroponics room.
- The door of the lower room on the right side has been removed.
- The small wall on the “catwalk” above Point A has been removed.
- Some cover walls have been added on the “catwalk”.
- The door next to the staircase leading to Winston’s room has been repositioned. It is now on the wall side in the training area.
- The large health pack has been moved to the back area of the room.
- A little clutter in the upper left computer room has been removed.
- Hydroponics Room
- The positions of the large and small health packs have been swapped.
- Some cover from the hydroponics plants has been moved to the right side.
- Point B
- The exits of the defender’s spawn point have been moved from the front to the sides outside of the line of fire.
- Small rooms and cover at the exits of the spawn point have been added.
- A path and platform have been added to the back right corner.
- The platform has been raised to the same height as that of the attackers on the other side of the point.
- The position of the old exit is now a small alcove with a small health pack.
- The area above the window is now covered.
- A large platform with cover has been added to the left side of the “catwalk”.
- The upper platform for the attackers has been lowered.
- The door leading to the platform is now a bit smaller.
