You can now play the demo of the promising survival RPG Enshrouded on Steam. MeinMMO reveals what to expect.
The German developer studio Keen Games (Frankfurt am Main) is participating in this year’s Steam Next Fest. You can play a demo of the survival RPG Enshrouded
for free. This demo gives you the opportunity to test the game on Steam before it goes into early access.
Until when does the demo run? The demo is available on Steam from October 9 to October 16 as part of the Steam Next Fest
. In this test version, you can experience the initial hours of the cooperative survival game.

Survival Adventure: A mix of combat, exploration, and building
What kind of game is this? Enshrouded is an action RPG survival game. The world of Embervale has been destroyed by the release of a magical plague, and now you must fight for survival.
In this apocalyptic world, it’s all about bare survival and forging your own destiny. Your task is to revitalize
the land, fight against mutated beasts and bosses, and build epic structures – reminiscent of Minecraft. You can customize these structures with a selection of materials and furniture. This way, you can also provide shelter for NPCs.
You not only have the ability to build structures, but you can also craft your own armor and weapons to increase your strength. With the help of a skill tree, you can create a unique playstyle.
Enshrouded also encourages collaboration with other players. In the 16-player co-op mode, you can develop unique roles and skills to embark on quests together, collect treasures, and defeat the dreadful hordes that plague the land.
What can I expect in the demo? In Enshrouded, you start as a Flameborn in the destroyed environment of Embervale, and your first task is to build a flame altar to explore the treasures and ruins shrouded in mist.
Additionally, during the demo, you can meet a legendary blacksmith as a craftsman, and the demo is already playable in cooperative mode. You have the opportunity to perform terraforming, build, fight, and level up.
If you are among the players who have been waiting for the release of the game for a long time, you can already have fun in the demo. If you have never heard of Enshrouded but are curious about a survival game, it might be worth taking a look at the demo version.
The game is set to enter early access on Steam later in 2023 and is expected to be available as a full version in 2024.
