Today, on August 25th, the preview event for New World started at 6:00 PM. However, many players are still reporting issues and cannot access the game.
Update August 26th: Although there are still complaints about individual bugs and crashes, the release of the preview was generally quiet. Many were able to play completely without hindrance according to their reports.
What bugs are there so far? As originally announced, many players were able to start the New World client on Steam at 6:00 PM our time, but from that point on, various problems occurred. So far, players mainly report three issues:
- A bug with the authentication of the person.
- No active servers are available for selection.
- Login queues.
However, there are also many players who were already able to start New World. They can explore the world of Aeternum and get to know the game. However, please note that not all cutscenes and content are yet provided with a German voice or text output.
Below, we explain what you can do about the problems.
1. Bug with Authentication with Persona
This bug seems to occur most frequently and gives you the option to try again by clicking “YES”. This has already resolved the problem for some.
As MeinMMO reader “Dr. h. c. Iggy Bear the Eleventh” reported on Discord, the bug also appeared in the Alpha. There, developers recommended restarting the PC completely.
2. No Active Worlds
Another bug is that no active worlds are displayed. Here, a restart of the game is the only immediate help.
However, if you participated in the preview event for the war beforehand, you should disable the Alpha settings that you had made specifically. The special test servers for the event have been taken offline.
3. Queues
Some players report queues when joining European servers. Here, you can only line up. However, you can bypass the problem by playing on an American server. The ping to US-East is at least acceptable.
