In New World, a preview event for the game ran until September 5. The developers provided a glimpse of upcoming content and the next tests. However, these are still quite a while away and not for everyone.
What is currently happening with New World? The preview event for New World was still ongoing until September 5 at 8:59 AM. During this, you could create a character, explore the world, complete quests, or participate in PvP.
Now, however, the preview is over and the MMO is entering a new development phase. This will even take place completely without testers.
When will the next test take place? The next event is planned for November. The developers revealed this in a new blog post. So, while you won’t have to wait until the official beta and the release in 2021, you will still have to wait a few more weeks.
However, this test will initially be a closed alpha with NDA. When the next open test will take place is still unknown.
However, there should be several new features before the test, as Amazon has already teased.
New World plans new weapons, more game modes, and tasks
What is supposed to change in New World? As revealed in the blog post, the developers plan to implement several changes based on feedback, including:
- New midgame and endgame content
- More game modes
- New areas
- More AI diversity
- Additional weapon types
- More diverse tasks
This is quite a long list, but it also covers many points that were criticized by players during the testing phase of New World. Especially midgame and endgame content, as well as more diverse tasks, were repeatedly mentioned as negative points.
We at MeinMMO have also voiced similar criticism of the game. Yet, we still see a lot of potential in New World. With the right polishing, the MMO could become something great, say the editors Alexander Leitsch and Leya Jankowski.
