Blizzard has released the patch notes for the upcoming WoW update 8.2.5. Among them are some highlights that no one expected.
For a while now, the upcoming patch 8.2.5 of World of Warcraft has been on the PTR. Slowly, it seems that the testing phase is coming to an end, as Blizzard has released the official patch notes that inform about all the new features and details. In addition to the expected innovations such as the “Party Sync” feature, there are also other highlights that we want to briefly present to you here.
Event Transmog for the whole year: With the Lunar Festival (taking place in January), players can complete a new quest. This quest ensures that the flower crowns that were given as rewards for the festival are upgraded. This will make it possible to use the flower crowns as transmogrification items throughout the year! This is an improvement that fans have been demanding for years.
So far, it has only been possible to use rewards from holiday events during the respective holidays.
Whether the other events and their special clothing will receive such an upgrade remains to be seen.
New things in the Black Market AH: Not entirely unexpectedly comes the announcement that there will be new content in the Black Market Auction House. We are talking about “new mounts, enchantments, and transmogrifiable gear”. Which enchantments and equipment this pertains to is still not entirely clear. However, the mounts are likely to be mounts like the Zhevra that were available through the old “Recruit a Friend” system and are now gone.
We will probably only receive the full list of these new items in the weeks following the patch release.
Patch 8.2.5 will also have 2 really big cinematics…
Gold and War Resources for Max Level: If you have already brought your necklace (Heart of Azeroth) to level 70 and can’t make use of Artifact Power anymore, you will instead receive gold or war resources as a reward from world quests. This way, world quests should continue to provide an incentive to be completed.
Auction House Security Lock: If you like to shop in the auction house, you will be pleased with this small change. If you want to make a purchase that costs more than 50,000 gold coins, you now have to confirm this action in an additional dialog box. This should reduce the frequency of “mistaken purchases” – as these cannot be undone in the auction house.

When is patch 8.2.5 coming out? There is still no official release date. However, it can only be a matter of weeks until the update finally goes live, as the associated “Recruit a Friend” system is expected to start “in the coming weeks”. So, logically, the patch must be released by then.
