In Pokémon GO, the monster of the first Community Day in March has been announced. And it could become even stronger, thanks to a new exclusive attack.
When is the event? After the dates for the first events in the new season were recently announced, there is now more concrete information regarding the first Community Day in March 2025. This will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Krokel, the Fire starter from the 9th generation, will be at the center of the event. In addition to familiar content, there will also be strong bonuses and an exclusive attack that could significantly enhance Krokel’s evolution.

What exclusive attack is available? If you evolve Lokroko, Krokel’s evolution, into Skelokrok during the event or within the week after, it will learn the exclusive charge attack Lohekanonade. Additionally, Skelokrok can learn the charge attack Loderlied at the start of the event.
Why is it worth it? Both charge attacks are Fire-type moves. While Selokrok is not found in the list of best attackers in Pokémon GO, the monster is a strong option in the Battle League. In both the Ultra League and various special cups like the Love Cup, Skelokrok can shine.
With the new charge attacks, Skelokrok could become even stronger in the Battle League. While Lohekanonade is already one of the best Fire attacks in the Battle League, using Loderlied additionally increases Skelokrok’s attack value.
Furthermore, it is conceivable that Lohekanonade also allows Skelokrok to play a significantly better role in raids.
What bonuses are there in the event? The following bonuses will be active during the event:
- Krokel will appear more frequently and with greatly increased Shiny chance
- 3 times the amount of Stardust when catching
- 2 times the amount of Candy when catching

What other content is there in the event? The Community Day will also feature a time-limited research task where you can obtain Krokel with a special background. You can also purchase a special research for $2 (approximately €2).
Additionally, there will be field research tasks and PokéStop showcases featuring event Pokémon, as well as various event boxes that you can obtain for PokéCoins during the event.
