A total of 6 new champions for League of Legends were announced for the year 2020. 4 of them have already been released, 2 are yet to come. Moreover, Riot has already given an outlook on the champs of Season 11, which will be introduced in 2021.
Update January 8, 2021: There is now new information regarding Viego and three other champions that are supposed to arrive in 2021.

Which champions are still coming in 2020? There are still 2 new champions planned for this year. We already know some details:
- One of the new champions will be Seraphine (featured image). She has already been built up with her own social media account, and players suspect she will be the AP midlaner this year. Additionally, she will make a guest appearance with the band KDA.
- The last champ this year will be a supporter. It is expected to be a “heavily armed and elusive criminal” who leaves his enemies with “twisted and shattered armor.” However, there are no exact details yet.
Only in September did Samira, the latest AD Carry in LoL, come out. A leak in early August created a lot of hype around her, and at release, she was so strong that she received a hotfix on day 1.
Before Samira, Yone, Lillia, and Sett were already released.
What lies ahead in 2021? For Season 11, which will start in 2021, Riot Games plans to introduce more new champions.
In recent years, it has also been ensured that one champion per position is introduced, and in 2020 there were two midlaners, one assassin (Yone), and one focused on magical damage (likely Seraphine).
The chances are good that there will be 6 champions again next year.
New champions are to already be in the lore
What do we know about the upcoming champions? For the first champion of 2021, we already know that it will be a jungler. This was revealed by developer REAV3 in a blog post.
The section regarding the champion is titled “Twisted Obsession” and to match this, this teaser image was published:
Moreover, there are supposed to be champions next year that are already embedded in the lore, just like this year Yone as Yasuo’s brother and Senna in 2019 as Lucian’s wife.
Who exactly will make an appearance has not been revealed, but it is expected to be a character that “players have longed for for years.”.
However, Season 11 will not only bring new champions. There are also plans for far-reaching changes to the item system and adjustments to critical damage. Both could significantly change the meta.
Further revamps of old champs planned
In addition to the new champions, revisions of the old ones are also still planned. Dr. Mundo is expected to be graphically and visually adjusted, and work on another champion has already begun.
