A new mount in World of Warcraft is causing a lot of frustration. The drop chance is low, and everyone has only a few days to obtain it.
The Noblegarden festival has started in World of Warcraft. As every year, it involves egg hunting and plenty of rewards. However, this year there are some new features, including a new quest line, many cosmetic rewards – and a mount.
This exclusive mount has a terribly low drop chance of only 1%. And time is running out…
Which mount is it? We’re talking about the “Noble Flying Carpet.” This mount will be available for the first time with the Noblegarden 2024. The mount can be included in the “Loot-Filled Basket,” which can be obtained through a daily quest. However, note that only characters level 60 or higher can receive the correct basket.
What is the problem with the mount? The special flying carpet has, based on current community reports and calculations from sources such as wowhead, a very low drop chance of around 1%. For an event that only runs for 7 days a year, that’s quite a poor chance. With just a single character, it would statistically take many years before one could add the mount to their collection.
Community reacts with criticism: In various comment sections, the overhaul of the Noblegarden festival is not well received, especially because of the mount.
The main point of criticism is that the time limit on the events, combined with the low drop chance, only fuels “FOMO” (Fear of Missing Out). This promotes unhealthy and exhausting gaming behavior. Collectors feel compelled to defeat the current event boss with as many characters as possible to maximize their chances. This, in turn, leads to those individuals doing nothing else in World of Warcraft for the entire week.
