In Pokémon GO, Granforgita unleashes the hammer and hammers its way into the attack rankings. The impact of the attack can already be estimated.
What kind of attack is this? Exciting news in Pokémon GO: Forgita, the Steel Fairy Pokémon, is getting its own Community Day.
This means that you not only have a better chance of getting the little monster as a Shiny, but there’s also news regarding attacks: Granforgita, the final evolution of Forgita, will learn the move Giant Hammer
starting from Community Day.
And it’s impressive. The Giant Hammer hits with 300 damage in Arena and Raid battles, placing it at the top of the charge move rankings, aside from special moves like Dynamax attacks.
Does this make Granforgita an absolute hammer attacker in Pokémon GO? The answer is: well.
Hammer strong, monster somewhat mediocre
Is the Giant Hammer worth it? The base value of 300 is extremely strong, but unfortunately, Granforgita’s own stats are not. Granforgita has an attack value of 155.
Since Giant Hammer is a Steel move, Granforgita needs to be compared with other Steel attackers. And at the top, there are definitely better candidates:
- Metagross, for example, has a value of 257
- The special Necrozma forms have 277
- Zacian in its Crowned form counts 332
- Zamazenta in its Crowned form has 250
- Dialga has 275
- Melmetal comes in at 226
The list goes on. In short: Granforgita itself is unfortunately not a top attacker. The Giant Hammer will definitely make Granforgita a good Steel attacker in Raids – but it is unlikely to rise to the top-tier.
And what about in PvP? That remains to be seen. In general, Granforgita is already a good choice in Great and Ultra League. Giant Hammer has a value of 130 in battles – that’s very high. It remains to be seen how much energy the move will require and how quickly it charges.
If Giant Hammer can be used quickly, it could be a real upgrade for Granforgita in PvP. However, we need to wait and see how the energy values ultimately look.
