In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive the Operation Shattered Web has started. Players can earn new content through a Battle Pass and open crates with new skins. Those are already being traded at very high prices.
What are these skins? With the new Operation Shattered Web, dozens of new skins for various weapons in CS:GO have been released. The developers have released four new collections: Shattered Web, Canals, St. Marc, and Norse.
Each collection contains at least one weapon of the “Covert” rarity (red, “ancient”). The CS:GOStash page lists the current market prices of the weapons in the Steam Marketplace. The currently most expensive skins (as of November 20 at 5:00 PM) from the event are:
- AK-47 Wild Lotus: 1000.37€ – St. Marc Collection
- AWP Gungnir: 804.60€ – Norse Collection
- AWP The Prince: 801.47€ – Canals Collection
All figures refer to the “factory new” condition.

The variants of some skins with StatTrak can even be more expensive. Additionally, there are new knife skins, all of which also cost over 1000€, which is more common with knives. You can find all new skins on the info page for Shattered Web.
Are players crazy? Players bought the skins shortly after the event release for over 1000€. In CS:GO, it often happens that skins are traded at high prices. The most expensive skin so far, a special AWP Dragon Lore, sold for over $61,000.
The new skins were cheaper shortly after their release, but have become more expensive again in the last few hours. It remains to be seen what their price will settle at in the long run.

New Event: Operation Shattered Web
What kind of event is this? Operation Shattered Web is a new event in CS:GO, where players can unlock new content such as stickers and graffiti through a Battle Pass. They pay for the pass and then receive new rewards for completing missions.
This time, there are also “Operators” as known from other games like the new Modern Warfare. Operators are skins for the playable character, instead of the previously usual skins for the weapons.
In addition to the Battle Pass, there are also new crates from the respective collections. Players must then open these with keys, which in turn cost real money and have already been used as a payment method by gangsters.
In the crates, there is a chance to get one of the extremely expensive skins. The event will last at least 16 weeks – at least until March 10.
