In Fallout 76, you can complete a new quest line with the new Patch 8, which revolves around an unknown cryptid – the Sheepsquatch. This creature serves as an event boss at the end of the quest line and poses a significant challenge to players.
What is the Sheepsquatch? The Sheepsquatch is said to be a sheep-human hybrid – similar to the Mothman, which is a cross between a moth and a human. Unlike the previously known cryptids of Fallout 76, it is far more dangerous.
According to reports and rumors that you can find in the game, the Sheepsquatch tears through animals and humans, ripping apart and killing everything that comes too close.
Here’s how to find the Sheepsquatch: If you want to see and kill the Sheepsquatch yourself, you need to first complete a new quest line. It begins with the quest “The Lying Lowe” and has been available since the new Patch 8 from April 9.
“The Lying Lowe” begins by interacting with one of the Sheepsquatch posters found in Lewisburg and at train stations. Similar to the Alcohol update, the posters are also available for free in the Atomic Shop as a C.A.M.P. item until May 7.
The quest sends you on the trail of Calvin “Can” Lowe, who, as a member of the “Truth Seekers”, is on the hunt for cryptids. He is missing, and his sister lures helpers with the assumption that he was killed by the Sheepsquatch.
The quest line becomes increasingly convoluted and requires some detective work, also providing you with many side quests. At the end of the line, you can initiate a repeatable event that summons the Sheepsquatch.
You can craft the necessary item, and the missing ingredient for the recipe is available from the new vendors in Whitesprings for about 2,200 caps. (1,960 caps with Rank 3 of “Master Trader”)
How does the fight go? When you start the event, a Sheepsquatch impostor appears in disguise. You need to activate the pylons scattered in the area to make it fully attackable.
During the fight, hordes of exploding eye bombs will keep appearing. They make it difficult to hit anything and to survive at all.
Fans remind that Fallout 76 will also receive dungeons and raids that are specifically designed for groups. If players already find the fight against the Sheepsquatch too difficult, the raids might end up being boring and a flop.

My first attempt at the event went horribly wrong and ended in defeat. Over 10 players participated, and it was absurdly difficult. Huge waves of Colonel Gutsies appear, and the wrong Sheepsquatch kills everyone with just a few hits.
According to reddit, the majority of the community agrees that one should not complain about the difficulty of the fight. Bethesda provides a good challenge with the event, which is meant for coordinated groups and offers many people an incentive to play.
