The new open-wheel races in GTA Online have started. And chaos broke out immediately. Crash videos show that many players are not ready for the tactical races.
What is new? On February 27, 2020, a new racing series started in GTA Online. There, cars reminiscent of Formula 1 cars race. At the same time, the developers also released two corresponding racing cars, which are damn expensive.
The special thing about the new open-wheel series races is that you need a lot of skill. You have to pay attention to the condition of your tires and the body. Because if parts are damaged, it directly affects the handling. If something is broken or particularly worn out, you should consider a pit stop in the new races. You will lose time, but you will get a repair.
However, players are used to ramming other racers with the fastest vehicles from GTA Online to gain advantages. This no longer works as well in the new races, and it also leads to particularly funny scenes in the races.

You should keep this in mind for the races
If you want to participate in the races yourself, you need to rethink now.
Pay attention to the displays: Pay attention to the condition of your tires, which is displayed at the bottom right. If the display is low, the tires have hardly any grip and can cause your car to spin out with the slightest bumps or tight turns.
The overall condition of your car also plays an important role. Without a spoiler, you lose crucial traction needed in fast corners. So pit, even if you are in the back. With a healthy vehicle, you have better chances of overtaking your opponents.
Use the brakes: For many racers in GTA Online, this now comes as a surprise, but braking is worthwhile. While in many stunt races and other racing modes in GTA Online, you usually go full throttle for 5-10 minutes, in formula races you also need to brake sharply at times.
This is important at first to let the crashing field pass by. But also to recharge the turbo.
