Sony has presented the lineup of the new PS Plus. Reactions to it are very mixed. However, many praise the strong lineup that is supposed to come to PS4 and PS5.
What has been announced? Sony has announced in its official blog post which games are included in the new PS Plus. The first reactions are predominantly positive, as many top titles are included in the new subscription.
Who gets access to the games? Those who want to play the games for free on PS4 and PS5 must subscribe to either PS Plus Extra or PS Plus Premium. These cost either €13.99 or €16.99 for PS Plus Premium.
In the previous subscription, which is now called PlayStation Plus: Essential, the 3 monthly free games are included, but not the complete lineup.
Many top titles included in the new PS Plus for PS4 and PS5 – A few popular classics are missing
Which games are included? With Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut, Bloodborne, or Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, some top titles are included in the new PS Plus.
Also included with PS Plus Extra is Ubisoft+ in the subscription. This gives you free access to a lot of Ubisoft titles when you play on PlayStation.

However, there is a downside: Games like Metal Gear Solid or the Persona series are not included in the new subscription model. While some users find this disappointing, many are convinced by the new lineup.
Will more games come? Allegedly, the games presented are not all there is. Sony itself writes in the official post:
Our new PlayStation Plus service will launch soon, and we are excited to give you a first look at some of the games that will be available during the launch period.
Some users therefore assume that the currently known list is just a taste of what could still come and that Sony will present more games. However, it could also very well be that certain games are only available at launch and later removed. For example, Sony had removed the RPG Persona 5 from the “PS Plus Collection” without replacement.
The first reactions praise the new lineup of PS Plus
What are the reactions? In the “PS Plus” subreddit, many players are positively surprised by the announcement (via reddit.com).
- “After 1.5 years of absence, it’s probably time to buy Plus again.”
- “This is a good start. I really wanted to play Demon Souls and Ghost of Tsushima. Returnal, Spiderman, Death Stranding, Guardians of the Galaxy, Rdr2 – those are some nice titles. Let’s hope they continue to deliver good titles, otherwise it will be a problem for Sony regarding customer retention.”
- “I must say, great content for the start! I definitely need to add an additional SSD now to have more space for these games.”
In the lineup, some also see the problem of the offer. Because if you’ve been a long-time fan of PlayStation and have already played several games, you probably have already played many of the games listed here. Long-time fans may be less convinced, but rather people who are not yet so deep into the PlayStation universe:
The downside is, for a Sony fan from the beginning like me, that I already own all the first-party games listed here.
