After Reddit users found a leak regarding the new Need for Speed, there is now an official trailer for “Need for Speed Unbound”. And it appears quite unusual compared to the usual titles.
This is now known: The new game is called “Need for Speed Unbound” and will be released on December 2, 2022 – with early access starting on November 29.
As hinted in the leak, the game will be available for PS5, but also for PC and Xbox Series X|S. The older console generation, however, is not included.
During the leak, players already talked a lot about the comic-like look that the game apparently could have. And the new trailer shows: Indeed, there are plenty of comic elements, from the characters to the effects, represented in the game:
What is in Need for Speed Unbound? With the trailer, some initial information about the game was also released. You are in the street racing scene of the city of Lakeshore and aim to participate in “The Grand”.
To do this, you need to complete and win weekly qualification races. In order to succeed, you must tune your car – and there seem to be many customization options, like with outfits, but especially for the cars.
Furthermore, you will be against the police – you must evade them in the winding streets of Lakeshore as your wanted level rises due to the races. You can already check out the city on an interactive map at EA (via EA.com).

Where did the leak come from? Users discovered the leak on a website and posted the screenshots on October 5, 2022 on reddit. The images show a watermark with “NFS Unbound”. They depict vehicles and characters in a stylized anime design.
Where did the reddit users get the information? The information comes from the Japanese site Neowing.
Here you will find the screenshots, as well as a date: December 2, 2022. This is likely the release date of the game. The only platform listed is the PS5.
It remains to be seen whether the information on the Neowing website will prove true. Players may soon get clarity. The reveal date for NFS 2022 is already set.
When will we know more about NFS 2022? On Twitter the official Need for Speed channel announced a reveal. It will take place on October 6 at 8am PDT/ 5PM CEST (5 PM in Germany).
