Last night, the closed beta of Throne and Liberty was announced. The new trailer for the beta on Steam showcases how action-packed the game is.
What is Throne and Liberty? The new MMORPG from NCSoft was originally planned as Lineage Eternal but was completely taken offline in 2017 because the initial testers did not like it. This was followed by years of reworking and ultimately a renaming to Throne and Liberty.
The publisher in the western market is Amazon, which has also managed Lost Ark, New World, and the upcoming MMORPG Blue Protocol. The game is set to be released on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S later this year, and the beta is expected to take place on all platforms.
In the closed beta, the focus will likely be on PvPvE content, as revealed by the new trailer and its description. The trailer aims to impressively show how great the battles in the upcoming MMORPG look.

The beta does not focus on PvE
What is the focus of the beta? The focus of the beta for the new MMORPG is on the so-called PvPvE. PvPvE basically stands for player versus player and versus monsters, mixing PvP and PvE simultaneously. The description of the trailer reveals more:
[…] Adapt your combat style, make strategic decisions during PvPvE as you battle world bosses, traverse dungeons, and try to gain control of an area. Arm yourselves, ally with others, and take on the world on your way to victory.

The trailer highlights the large siege battles. These also involve PvP content where you are likely to fight every two weeks for control of a large castle. The trailer once again shows how action-packed Throne and Liberty can be.
To what extent the high-quality PvE content will be available in the beta is not known.
What is new in the beta? According to their own statements on the Throne and Liberty website there will be “many important adjustments to player progression and improved battles” in the test. Additionally, there is expected to be an auction house and the level limit has likely been lifted. The trailer also shows many battles.
When is the beta? The beta of the new MMORPG runs from April 10 at 10 PM until April 17 at 10 PM German time. Everyone who registered by April 2 has the chance to participate in the beta. To register for the test, simply visit the Throne and Liberty website.
