What kind of game is this? Palia is a new MMORPG that takes games like Animal Crossing as a model. Even in the trailers, the game claims it will allow you to have a “cozy life.”
The core elements of the game consist of activities that are usually considered side jobs in MMORPGs. These include tasks like growing various foods, forging tools, house maintenance, fishing, chopping wood, and cooking.
In early August, the MMO will first enter a closed beta and then an open beta. The gameplay progress will be carried over into the game.

How can I participate in the beta? According to the website, the first step is to create an account for Palia. Through this, you can also download the game once it is available (via palia.com). If you are invited to the closed beta, you will receive an email.
When does the beta run? The servers of the closed beta will open on August 2nd at 7 PM for all players who have received an invitation to Palia after signing up. The open beta starts on August 10th at 7 PM, where anyone who has registered can participate.
The developers point out that there may still be bugs in the beta. They also encourage players to bring their friends to Palia. There is a “Refer-A-Friend Program” for this.
What kind of program is that? If you refer friends to Palia, you will receive additional in-game rewards. From now on, you can refer 5 friends and secure 5 goodies. “As soon as your referred friend creates an account, you will receive your reward directly in your mailbox in the game!” (via palia.com).

How do I refer friends? After registering for Palia, you can invite friends via the “Refer a Friend” menu on your account page using a link. Friends who create an account through this will receive a fruit basket as a decorative item for the game.

Further information about Palia, the beta, and the rewards can be found on the website. In a live stream on Twitch and YouTube on July 18th, there will be a one-hour insight into the gameplay of Palia.
The progress you have acquired so far has been deleted after each game test. According to the developer, this is now different: The progress will be carried over from the closed beta to the later game. This aims to motivate players to take their time in Palia, to live out their imagination without losing anything.
Before the beta, on July 25th, there will be a final stress test for Palia. However, only players who have previously participated or registered for a previous stress test can take part.
