On May 25, 2021, the adorable MMORPG Moonlight Sculptor was released in our country on Android and iOS devices. The game quickly received top ratings in the Play Store. What exactly do players say about the new Mobile MMO from Korea?
What is Moonlight Sculptor? Moonlight Sculptor is based on a young adult novel series from South Korea. In the game, you play a fictional MMORPG called Royale Road. The game is published by Kakao Games, the publisher of Black Desert Online. The developers were also involved in the MMORPG ArcheAge.
You can play as one of 6 classes or intentionally choose none. The latter allows you to later play the secret class of “Sculptor”, a sort of great creator.
The game features:
- Adorable comic graphics
- Duelling arena for 2 players in PvP
- Battlefield of Valor, a large PvP battle between 100 players
- Mirkhan Tower, a typical endless tower with ever-changing challenges
- An offline mode that still allows you to level up via auto-play even when offline
- Timed raids that offer particularly high loot
This mix of features and the cute graphics have thrilled many players. The game has received 4.2 stars from nearly 10,000 ratings in the Play Store. In the App Store, the rating is even 4.5 points (as of May 26, 2021).
Great game, but why is it not in German?
This is what players say: Looking at the reviews, it stands out that many players praise the cute graphics and the complex gameplay system. But there are also voices that are bothered by the autoplay or that would like the game to be in German. Here are some exemplary voices from the community:
- VanZir_Gaming: “Very nice game. Quite a deep skill/class system. Hidden classes and hybrids. Very nice graphics. Great soundtrack. Even the dialogues are quite humorously written. Only downside: The shop. BUT (big but): You can earn a lot through activity and buy many things in the shop with a special currency that can be farmed.”
- Kirar Xiao: “I love the game. Successful implementation of the Korean version without adapting the game too much to the West. A must for every fan of the light novel or mangas.”
- Torykas TGT: “The language is in English, but that’s not a big problem. So far one of the best MMORPGs I’ve ever played on mobile devices.”
- Achh Woo: “The game seems to be good, graphics and movement also top. However, I would be interested to know if there will be a German version?”
- Eugen Kaiser: “Great game, the addictive factor is high. It would only be better if it were in German!!!”
- Manfred Dammkoehler: “So far quite fun and varied, if German is added as a possible language, then 5 stars.”
- M R: “I don’t think it’s that bad, I would continue testing but my phone is not the best anymore and the game drains the battery so much that it completely runs out, even though it’s plugged in. […] Autoplay is present, but I didn’t find it disturbing here. […]
