What’s new in A:IR? The latest post in the official forums introduced the pets as the feature of the MMORPG. The post provides a background story about the companions.
The animal pets are not only small, cute creatures in the world of A:IR. They form a strong bond with their owner that can last a lifetime. The pets are your most loyal friends and will never betray or abandon you.
But there are also mechanical pets. They were developed in ancient times and were so advanced that they could assist their owners during battles. After several incidents where the automatons went out of control and attacked their masters, their combat capabilities were removed.

Are there also benefits from pets? It is not entirely clear whether and what gameplay benefits the pets bring. However, the post by the community manager Goodvibesguy in the official forums suggests that owning pets provides certain bonuses. It states in the post:
