The new map Caldera of Call of Duty: Warzone is online for everyone. We will keep you updated in our live ticker about any issues and provide you with the latest news.
What’s going on in Warzone? More than 1.5 years after the release, Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a new, large map: the Pacific volcano island “Caldera”.
As part of the first joint season with Call of Duty: Vanguard, the new map is now online for everyone.
Here you will find everything you need to know about the launch of the new map, and we will accompany the release live in our ticker. If any issues arise, you will find reactions from the developers here, so you will know if other players have similar problems or what a potential solution looks like.
CoD Warzone: Caldera release in the live ticker
Update – 19:10: Still no problems with the servers. We wish you a bug- and cheater-free evening on the new map Caldera.
Update – 17:57: If you want to start in Vanguard Royale, here are some weapon recommendations:
Update – 17:51: There are reports that you are currently not receiving weapon XP in the Plunder mode. The mode is popular for leveling weapons, but at the moment it seems useless.
Update – 17:38: Not all modes with the addition “Vanguard” allow only the old weapons. In the “Vanguard Resurgence” mode, you also have access to weapons from Cold War and CoD MW – airplanes are still available.
Update – 17:20: So far, no signs of server problems. If you have performance issues, it may help to disable texture streaming in the settings. If your CoD points have mysteriously disappeared, you need to be patient; the developers are working on it.
If you want to know which issues have already been addressed by the developers after the release, check out the English Warzone Trello board (via Trello.com).
Update – 17:09: It happened again – Caldera went online earlier, and you can now access the new map, even without purchasing Vanguard. Here’s the playlist:
Playlist for the full Caldera release
- Vanguard Royale
- Solo, Duo, Trio, 4-player
- Vanguard Resurgence
- 4-player
- Battle Royale
- 4-player
- Plunder
- 3-player
First impression: The old weapons from Cold War and CoD MW are generally better than the new guns.
Update – 17:00: A good evening to all readers. From now on, we will keep an eye on the official Warzone channels. Yesterday, the new map already went live significantly earlier. If that happens again, you will find out here immediately.
Update – 15:00: If you are experiencing performance problems on PlayStation, it should help to disable “Texture Streaming” in the settings. The developers shared this on Twitter (via Twitter).
Update – 14:25: If you want to know what our MeinMMO author Maik Schneider thinks about the Pacific update, then check this out:
Update 09.12 – 08:20: Today at 18:00, the early access to Caldera ends, and all players may access the new map. We will again follow the release in our ticker and keep an eye on any issues for you.
Update – 20:12: The developers are now working on performance issues on PlayStation. Additionally, the demon weapon bug has returned – the developers are already working on that as well.
Update – 19:54: The NZ-41 appears to perform very well on Caldera. Try the assault rifle in Vanguard Royale.
Update – 18:54: If your CoD points are missing, that’s frustrating, but probably not a problem. This happened during the transition to Cold War as well, and the points were back after some time. The developers have already registered the problem (via Trello.com).
Update – 18:45: Problems may also occur on PlayStation. Textures are not loading correctly, and the game can crash. There is currently no solution for this except to try again.
Update – 18:25: Reports of issues on Xbox consoles are increasing. We are keeping an eye out for a possible solution.
Update – 17:50: Still no problems with the servers. However, it is now clear that there is no FoV slider on consoles.
Additionally, the playlist at launch is smaller than expected. For now, there’s only Vanguard Royale 4-player and 2 versions of Rebirth Island – Resurgence 4-player and Mini Royale 3-player.
Update – 17:40: The new Warzone map went online a bit earlier, and the servers are now available again. So far, there are no reports of server issues.
We are embedding the launch trailer here, which gives a good impression of the new map:
Pacific update of Warzone: Release timeline
Here are the key dates for the release at a glance:
- Start of preload: 08.12 at 6:00 AM
- Server downtime: 08.12 from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Start of Pacific update: 08.12 at 6:00 PM
- Access to Caldera for Vanguard buyers: 08.12 at 6:00 PM
- Access to Caldera for non-buyers: 09.12 at 6:00 PM
What can I play at launch if I haven’t bought Vanguard? Most modes at the launch of the Pacific update are played on the new map Caldera and therefore are not yet available to you.
However, there will be 2 modes available at launch on the smaller map “Rebirth Island”. The changes from the Pacific update will then already be in the game, and you will be able to play almost 40 new weapons.
But Caldera will remain closed for you until December 9th at 6 PM.
What does the playlist in early access look like?
- Vanguard Royale (Caldera)
- 4-player
- Resurgence (Rebirth Island)
- 4-player
- Mini Royale (Rebirth Island)
- 3-player
With the start for all players, more modes should be added to the playlist, such as the normal Battle Royale and Plunder. However, Rebirth Island will disappear and will not return until next week.
