The Norwegian developer Funcom recently presented a teaser for a new game. It is now known what it is. Funcom’s new game is called “Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden” and is set to be a turn-based tactics game!
Recently, the developer and publisher Funcom caused quite a stir online. A mysterious scene of a rundown bar was presented on one site. The outlines of strange figures were visible. The entire setting felt post-apocalyptic.
Since the studio primarily develops online games, many players assumed that the new project by Funcom could be an MMO shooter or a battle royale game.
A countdown for more information ended today. Now the cat is out of the bag and we know what type of game it is.
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden – Turn-Based Tactics with Killer Duck, Stone Woman, and Combat Boar!
However, those who expected an online game will likely be disappointed. Because the new game titled “Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden” is a turn-based tactics game in the X-Com style. As expected, the setting is in the post-apocalypse. Humanity has once again destroyed itself in a large nuclear war.
Now strange mutants are crawling through the ruins, searching for useful items and fighting against other mutants and robots. Your team consists of bizarre figures like the killer duck Dux, the combat boar Bormin, or a woman with stone skin named Selma. Together, they are looking for the legendary “Eden”.

Turn-Based Action with Story
The game is said to have a deep story with various narrative threads and interesting characters. The game features talking ducks that love to eat pork. It certainly sounds interesting! The turn-based battles are expected to be quite action-packed and thanks to the Unreal Engine 4, it all looks great.
By the way, the developers include the team behind the game Hitman as well as the Payday designer Ulf Andersson. The new studio calls itself “Bearded Ladies” and Mutant Year Zero is set to be released in 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
