In Pokémon GO you can now obtain 8 new Galar Pokémon. We show you how to get these Pokémon and what the new monsters can do.
This is how the new monsters are available: The Einall Event has started in Pokémon GO and has thus unlocked 8 Galar Pokémon. These can now be obtained in various ways.
The Galar Pokémon differ not only visually from their normal forms, but also have different types or values. This means they are sometimes significantly more usable.
All about the 8 Galar Pokémon and how to get them
What we evaluate here: We look at the values of the Pokémon and see if they are usable in battle. We evaluate strength in raids and arena battles as well as in PvP mode.
Mauzi and Mauzinger
This is how you get them: You can obtain Galar-Mauzi after the first stage of the Special Research “Champion of Nostalgia” challenge. You can also find it in the current 7 km eggs.
Mauzinger is the evolution of Galar-Mauzi. This Mauzi does not evolve into Snobilikat and can become Mauzinger with the normal Mauzi candies.
Are the Pokémon worth it? Mauzinger is significantly better than Snobilikat, but this Pokémon also plays a minor role in raids and arenas. In PvP, however, it looks different. Its values are:
- Attack Value: 195
- Defense Value: 162
- HP Value: 172
- Max CP: 2386
In PvE, as a pure Steel type, it cannot surpass Metagross with Meteor Mash. Even Metagross without the special move is still significantly better.
In PvP mode, Mauzinger is quite interesting because it can learn moves from 5 different types, surprising opponents. Unfortunately, being solely Steel type, it often does not receive STAB – a bonus when the attack is of the same type as the Pokémon.
Moreover, Mauzinger is quite sturdy in the Great League and a viable alternative there.
Flunschlik
This is how you get it: Flunschlik currently appears everywhere in the wild. If you do not have it yet, you can even recognize it by its shadow in your Nearby list.
You can also obtain it from 7 km eggs. By the way, you can also get the normal Flunschlik there. At Level 5 of the new Special Research, the Pokémon also appears.
Is the Pokémon worth it? In raids, Flunschlik is quite worthless, but in PvP mode it becomes really strong. Its values are:
- Attack Value: 144
- Defense Value: 171
- HP Value: 240
- Max CP: 2162
In the Great League, Galar-Flunschlik is one of the best Pokémon. It has the type combination Ground and Steel and thus also access to the fast move Mud Shot, which charges your charge move quite quickly.
Additionally, it has the advantage that Grass-type Pokémon are not effective against it, unlike alternatives like Welsar or Sumpex who unfortunately are vulnerable.
Finally, it is also quite resilient in battle, making the Pokémon even better. Thus, Galar-Flunschlik is a real weapon for your team.
Zigzachs, Geradaks and Barrikadax
This is how you get them: You can obtain Galar-Zigzachs exclusively from 7 km eggs. There you will also find the normal Zigzachs.
You can then evolve the evolutions Geradaks and Barrikadax. For that, the normal Zigzachs candies are sufficient.
Are the Pokémon worth it? Zigzachs and Geradaks play no role. Barrikadax is actually not that bad and scores especially in the PvP League. Here are its values:
- Attack Value: 180
- Defense Value: 194
- HP Value: 212
- Max CP: 2652
In raids and arenas, Barrikadax is not very useful. This is due to its moves and its stats, which are not suitable for these battles.
In PvP mode, Barrikadax can perform better. There, you should primarily focus on the Fighting moves. This way, it can defeat several meta-relevant Pokémon.
The major disadvantage is its weakness against Fairy-type Pokémon like Azumarill. Additionally, it has no STAB with Fighting moves. Nevertheless, it is an interesting choice and is likely to surprise some opponents in battle.
Flampion and Flampivian
This is how you get them: Galar-Flampion is found in the 7 km eggs. There you can also currently hatch the normal Flampion.
You can only obtain Flampivian through evolution. For that, you can use normal Flampion candies.
Are the Pokémon worth it? Flampivian is the only Galar Pokémon that becomes really useful for raids. Its stats already show this:
- Attack Value: 263
- Defense Value: 114
- HP Value: 233
- Max CP: 3105
Galar-Flampivian is the Ice Pokémon with the highest attack value in the game. Even Mamutel cannot keep up with that. Therefore, it will be quite strong against raid bosses like Rayquaza.
The downside, however, is its fragility. Flampivian has a very low defense value and can therefore be defeated quite quickly. Compared to many other Ice Pokémon, it still performs better and thus belongs to the best Ice attackers in the game.
In PvP mode, however, Flampivian is not really usable. The important defense value there is crucial for you to often come out on the short end with Flampivian.
How long will the Pokémon still be available? They will probably be permanently available in the game. It is certain that they will be found more frequently in 7 km eggs until June 8 at 1:00 PM local time. Whether they will continue to be found so frequently thereafter remains to be seen.
