PUBG (Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds) has received an interesting update. With this, the battle royale shooter now plays like an action movie.
What does the new update bring? Version 5.1 for Season 5 is available on the test servers and introduces some interesting new features. These include optimizations and balancing adjustments to weapons, updates to Miramar, performance improvements, spawn optimizations, and more.
Additionally, you can now find vending machines from which you can draw energy drinks and painkillers. However, there are some things that stand out particularly and have a significant impact on gameplay.
Throw Items!
What are the features of the update? You can now throw loot to your teammates. Do you know the scenes from cool action movies where one of the heroes yells in the middle of a fight: “Out of ammo!”? Another member of the team pulls out a magazine and throws it spectacularly to the colleague, who catches it, quickly loads it into the machine gun, and keeps shooting.
These scenes are now also possible in the shooter Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, which has improved significantly lately. To do this, your teammate must be within a radius of 15 meters around you. Then you can throw them either ammunition or medkits. They can use them immediately. But that’s not all.
This feature is also very cool: Throwing is the new thing in PUBG. Not only loot can you throw around, but also melee weapons.
Imagine these scenes that could come straight from an action movie: Two opponents are fighting in a house. The ammunition is out, and they are looking for other weapons. One finds a knife in the kitchen and throws it at his opponent. The other dodges, grabs a frying pan, and throws it at his enemy’s head.
This is now also possible. Because you can not only throw items for use to other players but also melee weapons – yes, even the frying pan. This should lead to funny and exciting situations in the battles of the battle royale shooter.
Players Can’t Wait
When will the update officially roll out? Currently, you can only try version 5.1 on the test server and throw items there. However, the update will officially be released for the PC version of PUBG on October 23. The version for Playstation 4 and Xbox One will follow on October 29.
What do players think about it? There is a lot of discussion about update 5.1. The throwing of items also plays a role in these discussions. On Reddit, the wildest ideas are already being discussed:
- AvocaJollyBoy: “I can’t wait to throw 30 Bandos to my teammate to fill his backpack so he stops looting.”
- Trick2056: “Is it possible to throw grenades to teammates who then throw them at enemies? Or we could play hot potato…”
What do you think of the new features in PUBG? Are you excited to be able to throw items?
