In the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online, the “Unwavering Celebration” event returned yesterday. It was supposed to run over the weekend. However, it was canceled after just a few hours – we will tell you why.
Update November 16: It is now clear that the event will not be activated this weekend. An official statement regarding the reasons and when the event will be rescheduled is expected to follow on Monday.
This is the event: After some difficulties recently, the return of an event was planned for The Elder Scrolls Online. It is called “The Unwavering Celebration” and was supposed to run from November 14 to November 18. During this time, you could receive additional loot in dungeons, including special items.
Why the Event Was Canceled
To access the loot from the event, players needed to brave the dungeons of Tamriel. These are dungeons where various bosses await players. Once the last boss was defeated, an additional chest was unlocked as part of the event. That’s where the difficulties began.
What was the problem? For an event revolving around dungeons, automatic group finding is of course a central component. However, shortly after the event started, problems with it were noticed. This escalated to the point where players experienced significant disruptions, not only in the dungeons. Therefore, it was decided to shut down the event.
Players could participate in the event for only two hours. “The Unwavering Celebration” started yesterday in Germany at 4 PM. However, at 6 PM our time, the report came that the event had to be canceled.
This is what the team of The Elder Scrolls Online has to say:
Our top priority is to ensure that you can log in and play, which is why we disabled the event.
