The new co-op RPG Wayfinder from publisher Digital Extremes will go into Early Access in a few days. The developers provided an outlook on how the housing system will work in the game.
When does Wayfinder launch in Early Access? On August 15, 2023, Wayfinder will launch in Early Access and will be available for PS4, PS5, and PC platforms.
After the game was playable in beta, a new gameplay aspect will now be integrated with Early Access: apartments and thus housing. You will also have the opportunity to keep a pet.

With Early Access, housing will be possible in Wayfinder
In the first developer livestream and on their website, the game provided more information about what housing will offer in the Early Access version of Wayfinder:
- Decorations
- Pets
- Artifacts and trophies
You can place your decoration items in the room as you like and create a cozy home for yourself. Different furniture is available to you, from bookshelves to various light sources. These items can be obtained during the gameplay and earned through the Reward Tower
.
Besides, you can also place a furry roommate in the room who will be waiting for you when you return from your travels. And yes, you can pet your creature.
Moreover, the earned artifacts and trophies that you can display in your apartment should also have an impact on your adventures in the game world. Any artifacts and trophies that affect gameplay can be earned in the game.

What will be added later? Beyond Early Access, the developers plan to further expand housing in Wayfinder.
The apartments should eventually become whole neighborhoods where you can choose and buy your own land to live next to your friends. Special neighborhood quests, shared buffs, and guild neighborhoods are also planned for the future.
Additionally, your pets should be able to accompany you when you leave the house later on. More decorative items like floors and wallpapers are expected to follow.
Regular updates are also planned, bringing you new items each season. During limited-time events, you will be able to earn special rewards.
To gain Early Access to Wayfinder, you need to purchase a so-called Founder Pack
, for which you will pay between €17.99 and €129.99 depending on the pack (via playwayfinder).
In addition to access to the game, the packs include exclusive items and customization options for the game characters.
