Previously, the last titles in the CoD series always cost €69.99, a price that fans begrudgingly accepted upon its introduction a few years ago. For years, Call of Duty, like many other full-price titles, was available for €60 in stores.
For fans, the new price is reason enough to complain.

Fans are upset about the price but have a solution
How are the fans reacting? Call of Duty fans are outraged by the price increase. On Reddit, many users gather under a post by imjustanromanian titled “EXCUSE ME? €80!?” along with a screenshot of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Steam.
Mpk_Paulin comments on Reddit: “I remember people were upset when the price rose to $70 two or three years ago. Expect games to cost $100 by the end of the decade.”
Arctimon seems to have already pinpointed the reason on Reddit: “The worst part is knowing that people will buy it because they never learn.”
Many other comments echo this sentiment, blaming buyers for the price increases. They presumably believe that the price hikes will not affect the number of copies sold.
What is the fans’ solution? The new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available directly from the start in the Xbox Game Pass. You can get this for just one euro during the trial month before the price increases to €9.99 per month.
Even if you only play Call of Duty with it, it would still be cheaper for about eight months. However, the Game Pass offers many hundreds of games that you also get for the price of €9.99 per month.
This is a good deal for users on Reddit, especially for players who are more interested in the campaign. Xboxben writes on Reddit: “Game Pass for $10, then finish the game and cancel.” SyberWolf also suggests on Reddit: “just buy one month of Game Pass.”

So if you’re unsure if the €80 title is worth it or know that you won’t play it for long anyway, then a subscription to the Xbox Game Pass might be worth considering.
