Destiny 2: Witch Queen was released on February 22 and not only enjoys a smooth start but also a lot of positive feedback regarding the campaign. Even the most well-known Destiny expert “Datto” has spoken out.
Who is Datto? Datto is one of the veterans of the Destiny community. He has been there since the beginning and has created countless videos comparing weapons and stats. He is regarded as an expert and professional in the loot shooter community. Datto mainly streams on Twitch and produces many analyses for YouTube on topics in Destiny. Since Witch Queen was released, Datto has been involved and even played through the story.
The best Destiny campaign ever
Datto’s opinion is clear: He describes the story as the best Destiny campaign ever. Anyone who knows Destiny knows that the story missions follow a pattern. Land on Planet Mars, Kill the enemies, Investigate an unknown signal.
These missions usually last 10–15 minutes and repeat throughout a campaign, which can be really boring. That was the case until Witch Queen appeared.
In the new DLC, each mission resembles a mini-dungeon, where you receive a reward for each step and are encouraged to keep going. Bungie has broken its stereotypical mission pattern and created something new with Witch Queen that even impresses Datto.
What do other players say? The story is not only well-received by the expert, but also our freelance author on MeinMMO and users on YouTube find the story finally worthwhile, captivating, and smooth.
YouTube user Dylan Corbett says the following:
Legendary solo campaign completed. One of the best Destiny experiences I’ve ever had. This revelation at the end just got me hyped for so much more Destiny.
So if you haven’t started Destiny 2 yet and you want to finally feel the magic that the loot shooter radiates, you should definitely start with Witch Queen. The Guardians have a lot to process here and Bungie is weaving a story that, at the current state, might become the best storytelling experience one could ever have in a shooter.
Were there complications at launch? In the past releases, such as Beyond Light and Shadowkeep, players were faced with long queues. Despite successfully logging in, players couldn’t play for long as they often got kicked with error messages like “Calabrese” and “Baboon.”
But Bungie kept its word and the release didn’t turn into a rollercoaster for all Guardians. There were short queues and error messages were also reduced. Only PS4 players had to re-download the loot shooter due to a system error, but everything ran smoothly despite that. Many players on Twitter thanked Bungie that evening for the seamless process.
