The German developers of CipSoft continue to tidy up their MMORPG Tibia. This time, it caught a character who was very high in the global rankings.
What’s currently happening in Tibia? For about two weeks now, the MMORPG from the Regensburg studio CipSoft has been undergoing a delayed spring cleaning of a different kind. The developer is specifically targeting accounts and characters that have violated the terms of use.
Several days ago, MeinMMO reported that it also caught one of the richest players – items worth over 11,500 euros suddenly disappeared. The player in question was playing a druid at level 257. That sounds like a lot, but it’s not even enough for a footnote in the top 1,000 of the global rankings.
It looks completely different for a new victim of the ban waves. “Galll” is the “Elite Knight” with the highest level so far that has been caught.

What level did Galll have? The knight was at level 2,453, ranked 11th in the class and cross-server global rankings, and 1st among all “Elite Knights”. The affected player must have invested a lot of time in their character over many years.
In the MMORPG Tibia, there is no level cap, as there is in WoW. Theoretically, you could level up as long as you want. However, the further you progress, the more experience points you need for each level increase. Additionally, every death penalizes you with XP loss. To reach level 1,500, a player needed about 13 years.
Why was the character deleted? CipSoft currently seems to be targeting characters that gain an unfair advantage through unauthorized scripts and macros. However, it cannot be conclusively proven whether this is the reason in this case.
It’s clear that a certain “Surowica” must be pleased with the ban. Their “Elite Knight” is now ranking 1st among all knights at level 2372.
What do I need to know about Tibia and CipSoft? The studio from Regensburg was founded in 2001 after the MMORPG Tibia, released in 1997, became a success. The online role-playing game with its charming retro look has reached 32 million players and 200 million euros in revenue over the years and is said to be more successful now than ever before.
Consequently, the studio has been able to grow sustainably, now employing 100 people. In 2019, Tibia even won the German Developer Award in the “Long-Term Success” category. Thanks to all this, Tibia is one of the oldest and most successful online role-playing games in Europe.
